was a three-time Ivy League champion at , he turned pro in 1992 and then joined the Nike Tour in 1994, he also played on the PGA Tour for six years. Coach Heintz joined the family in September 2012, throughout the years he has led the team to five tournament titles including the 2015 Ivy League Championship title. Because of his accomplishments he was named the first-ever Ivy League Coach of the Year. Heinz's overall record is 200-270-6.

We asked Coach Heintz if he could give some advice to the student- athletes who are looking to play golf for him at UPenn.

2aDays: Since the Ivy League does not offer athletic , can you explain how UPenn can offer aid to their recruits?

is committed to offering competitive, need-based financial aid packages which generally include zero student loans.

2aDays: What is the most important quality you look for in a recruit?

Determination to continue improving as a golfer throughout their college career.

2aDays: What is the most important way to get noticed? (high school team, JPGA ranking, showcases, tournaments, other)

Strong play on good courses, which translates to good scoring differential on NJGS.

2aDays: How should an athlete contact you? (phone, email, social media, other)

Initial contact by email is best.

2aDays: What advice can you offer a recruit?

Identify the type of school you want first, then be objective about your ability level as you determine if you could be a strong prospect at that level.

2aDays: How big a factor is social media when recruiting players? What advice do you have for athletes regarding social media?

Social media is not a huge factor in determining a recruit's ability, but it can tell us a lot about personality and interests. Make sure you can respect the person you are portraying online.

2aDays: What really jumps out at you when reviewing a recruit's swing tape? What are the main do's and don'ts for a recruit's swing tape?

I like speed and simplicity if I can find them in a recruit's swing. 't need to be overdone with music, etc. Including one Down the Line and one Face On with D, Iron, Wedge, Pitch Shot, Putter is ideal.

2aDays: When do you recommend recruits put together and share their swing tape? (e.g., during offseason, in the middle of , after each tournament)

I think the video should be shot in season so the golfer is sharp and at full speed. Not necessary to make new one more than twice per year.

2aDays: What advice do you have for recruits that get turned down by their dream schools? What are their options if they don't gain recruiting attention they desire?

Try to understand why they were declined, regroup, identify similar schools with programs at which they may be competitive. Many programs offer a walk on tryout if the student still wishes to apply to a dream school.

2aDays: Are you the only one on your staff that does recruiting? If you enlist the help of others, when are they brought in and how, specifically, do they help you?

Currently I am solely responsible for recruiting.
